June 7 – Hours before the women’s World Cup was due to kick off in the French capital, Gianni Infantino insisted the tournament would change perceptions about the women’s game for ever. But more importantly the FIFA president missed a vital – some might say essential – opportunity to address the scourge of sexual harassment pervading the game.

June 3 – The US Soccer Federation (USSF) has signed a new five-year deal with VISA with the global payments firm taking a lead on gender parity, specifying that 50% of its sponsorship should go towards the women’s game.
May 30 – BeIN Sports will broadcast the Women’s World Cup after striking a deal with FIFA to air the tournament in more than 30 countries across Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.
May 23 – FIFA has promised to do “doing everything it can” to ensure families can sit together at next month’s Women’s World Cup in France following reports that some group ticket buyers have been split after receiving their allocation.

May 20 – Conspicuous by her absence from Norway’s women’s World Cup squad, Ada Hegerberg proved she is still a global superstar by steering Lyon to a crushing 4-1 win over Barcelona on Saturday in the women’s Champions League final as they won the trophy for a fourth successive year.
May 17 – For the first time in its history, UEFA has launched a dedicated women’s football strategy, a five-year plan that aims to double the number of women and girls playing the sport by 2024.
May 14 – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is making history in the region by announcing that for the first time an all-female officiating trio will take charge of a men’s continental club game.
May 13 – With less than a month to go before the Women’s World Cup June 7 kick-off in France, the trophy is the first arrival in country and will begin a national tour.
