Infantino says his Swiss judiciary scandal is ‘absurd’, as buddy Lauber looks a lost cause

June 26 – FIFA president Gianni Infantino, unable to shake off continuing suspicion over his motives for undocumented meetings with under-fire Swiss attorney general Michael Lauber, has broken his silence by insisting it was “absurd” to suggest he had done anything wrong.

Burnley banner buyer flies into trouble as employer fires him

June 25 – The Burnley fan responsible for the provocative “white lives matter, Burnley” banner flown as a stunt over Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium at the start of the fixture between the teams on Monday has been dismissed from his job as a welder at a local engineering firm, according to British reports.

Offensive but not a criminal offense: ‘White lives matter’ banner tows the wrong line

June 24 – An off-the-field incident when a plane carrying a banner provocatively declaring ‘White Lives Matter Burnley’ flew over Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium at the start of the fixture between the teams on Monday was not a criminal offence, police have declared.
