Trinidad and Tobago footballers owed over TT$4 million

October 12 – Trinidad and Tobago’s Football Federation (TTFF) will pay more than TT$4 million (£2.4 million/€3 million) to 13 players who played in the 2006 World Cup as compensation following a dispute between the two parties over revenues from their participation in the tournament, which was held in Germany.

Rooney’s father and uncle arrested in SPL betting scam

October 6 – Wayne Rooney’s father (pictured) and uncle were among nine men, which included Motherwell midfielder Steve Jennings, held by police this morning following a series of arrests carried out across Liverpool and Glasgow over allegations of suspicious betting activity during a Scottish Premier League (SPL) match, before being bailed.
