March 5 – The Football Federation of Kenya (FKF) initiated court case, attempting to put an end to the Kenyan Premier League and replace it with a League made up primarily of what were second tier clubs, looks certain to proceed on toady, despite a High Court Judge on Tuesday giving the two sides 48 hours to try and sort the matter amicably.

March 2 – President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick threatened to take legal action against the press on Friday, as his controversial administration continues to be plagued by questions over transparency, NFF finances, a contract for national team coach Stephen Keshi and administrative competence.

February 25 – The injunction taken out by the Football Kenya Federation last Friday, in contravention of its own statutes and those of FIFA, to bring the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) to a halt was served on Monday morning, plunging the league its players and Kenyan football into deeper crisis.

February 23 – Egypt has this morning officially abandoned its bid to host the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in favour of Algeria, whilst the government has confirmed the Egyptian Premier League will not be cancelled for this season, although no fans will be allowed into stadiums and President El-Sisi promised in a speech on Sunday that any official found culpable in the deaths of at least 20 Zamalek fans earlier this month would face punishment from the courts.
