September 6 – He failed FIFA’s integrity test that prevented him running for the presidency of the world governing body, but Liberian FA president Musa Bility is considered to have high enough moral standing to lead FIFA’s Sierra Leone Task Force that has the job of preparing the way for new elections in the country’s football association.
September 5 – The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) has postponed presidential elections originally scheduled for September 10th following a request from FIFA.
September 4 – For the second time in a matter of days, The Confederation of African Football (CAf) has called off an inspection visit to Kenya, hosts of the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
August 31 – Rwanda wants to stage the under-17 World Cup in 2019 – possibly in conjunction with Morocco – and has already communicated that to FIFA according to the president of the Rwandan FA (FERWAFA), Vincent Nzamwita (pictured).
August 29 – Opponents of embattled Sierra Leone Football Association president Isha Johansen appear to have lost the latest stage of their legal battle over who controls the game.

August 25 – Libyan politician Fayez Mustafa al-Sarraj, whose official titles include Chairman of the Presidential Council of Libya and prime minister of the Government of National Accord of Libya, has made a visit to Tripoli’s Al-Ahli football club on calling for an end to the “ban” on international matches in Libyan stadiums.

August 24 – Cameroon’s flickering hopes of staging the 2019 African Nations Cup have been plunged into further doubt following FIFA’s appointment of a normalisation committee to run the national federation (FECAFOOT).

August 22 – With qualification for the 2018 African Nations Championship winding up this evening, it remains to be seen where the final tournament will be held, as The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announces they are delaying a crucial inspection visit to Official Host Kenya until September 7.

August 21 – Cameroon’s bid to host the 2019 African Cup of Nations appears to be hanging by a thread after an inspection visit to the country scheduled for this week was suddenly called off.

August 16 – FIFA has again stepped into the Sierra Leone row to protect Isha Johansen, the SLFA president that the world governing body recognises but who football stakeholders and government officials in Sierra Leone argue is holding the position in an unelected capacity after her mandate ended August 3.
August 16 – After two years of suspension, the Libyan Premier League kicked off yesterday (Tuesday) with four matches successfully completed, albeit without spectators officially attending.

August 15 – In what looks like a further attempt to clean house of dissenting voices within the federation, the Liberian FA (LFA) has suspended its legal director Benedict Yarsiah “with immediate effect without pay, for time indefinite, pending an investigation.”

August 14 – As widely anticipated, Morocco has formally decided to take on the three-way candidacy of the United States, Mexico and Canada in a bid to stage the 2026 World Cup.
August 14 – At the weekend, Me Augustin Senghor (pictured) was re-elected for a third four-year term as the head of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) whilst the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) elected Wallace Karia, former vice-president as the new president.
