June 24 – Constant Omari, for years one of African football’s most influential as well as controversial figures, has been suspended by FIFA for a year for breaking its ethics code.
June 21 – Spurred on by Gianni Infantino, Confederation of African Football president Patrice Motsepe believes Africa can succeed where Europe failed and launch its own Continental Super League.

June 4 – Rodney Michael, who waged a long-running battle with the outgoing Sierra Leone FA president Isha Johansen for control of the federation, has been cleared by the Court of Arbitration for Sport to run in Saturday’s election.
June 3 – Isha Johansen, whose eight-year reign as president of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has been fraught with in-fighting and power struggles, has ruled herself out of Saturday’s elections and will not stand again.
May 28 – Egyptian Giants Al Ahly start as firm favourites to lift the African Super Cup against Morocco’s Renaissance Berkane and complete a treble of titles under South African coach Pitso Mosimane.
May 25 – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will restaff key positions within the organisation after a number of high-profile dismissals including director of legal affairs and compliance Achta Mahamat Saleh and head of finance Sheriff Elkhadem on Monday.

May 7 – A ban on several stadia across the African continent has led to the widely anticipated postponement of several World Cup qualifiers that were scheduled for June.
May 6 – Bafana Bafana have a new manager with Belgian coach Hugo Broos, an AFCON winner, taking on the role to steer South Africa to a brighter future after the country’s recent elimination from next year’s continental finals.
May 5 – In a shock ruling under its new president Patrice Motsepe (pictured), the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has banned 20 of its 54 member countries from using their stadiums to host international matches because they don’t meet “minimum requirements”.
