Egypt’s Al Ahly favourites to lift African Super Cup vs USM Alger in Saudi Arabia

Afcon 2023 finals line-up complete as Cameroon and Namibia clinch last slots

September 13 – African powerhouse Cameroon completed the lineup of the Africa Cup of Nations, punching a ticket with a 3-0 win against Burundi. Namibia also confirmed their presence at next year’s finals to wrap up qualifying.

September 9 – African football has been plunged into more commercial turmoil and intrigue after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) issued a letter on September 1 cancelling, with immediate effect, a $415 million broadcast contract with beIN Sports that has four years still to run.

Fifpro joins efforts to get Nigerian FA to pay its women’s team

August 9 – World players union Fifpro has stepped in to help the Super Falcons of Nigeria in their pay dispute with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to pay wages as well as Women’s World Cup prize money. The NFF called Fifpro’s intervention a “storm in a teacup.”
