October 26 – The University College of Football Business (UCFB) has announced that it is setting up a new campus at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, adding to its existing facilities at Wembley Stadium and Turf Moor.

October 21 – Whilst West Ham poured cold water on media reports Upton Park could serve as Tottenham’s replacement stadium whilst White Hart Lane is rebuilt, Martin Glenn, CEO of the Football Association, reaffirmed that the FA would be as “helpful as we can” in enabling a Wembley ground share for Chelsea and Tottenham.

October 21 – Nine out of ten Premier League clubs reported over 90% capacity at their stadia for the ninth round of the Premier League. Average capacity was 95.71%, with only Newcastle United dropping below 90% at 89.7%.
October 20 – One of England’s most iconic clubs is back in the news for all the wrong reasons with Leeds United’s Italian owner Massimo Cellino banned for the rest of this season from being an owner or director of the club, following his conviction for tax evasion back home.
October 16 – Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has branded his Football Association fine a “disgrace” – landing himself in danger of a further sanction.
October 15 – Chelsea’s outspoken Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho, increasingly under pressure after his team’s dismal start to the season by their own high standards, has been slapped with a suspended one-match stadium ban and fined £50,000 by the English Football Association for comments made about match officials.

October 15 – Manchester City has emulated the bulk of its Premier League rivals by moving into profit – for the first time since the club’s takeover by Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan in 2008. The club from the blue side of Manchester reported a pre-tax profit of £10.4 million for the year to end-May 2015.

October 8 – As Arsenal blitzed their way past longtime arch rivals Manchester United with a superb brace from the inimitable Alexis Sanchez and a strike from Mesut Ozil inside the first 19 minutes last Sunday at the Emirates stadium, Louis Van Gaal was left stunned on the touchline.
October 5 – The English Premier League is only eight games into the new season but the sack race is already up and running. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers (pictured) and Sunderland’s Dutch boss Dick Advocaat have both left their respective clubs after difficult starts to the new campaign, an uncomfortable reminder of just how impatient chairmen and owners can be and how quickly fortunes can change.

October 5 – Aston Villa became the first Premier League club to dip below filling 80% of their stadium capacity this season. The Midlands club, often referred to as a sleeping giant, have struggled to fill Villa Park, apart from their opening game of the season. Results have been poor with the club equal bottom of the league on points.

October 2 – Comparatively poor results by English clubs in the Champions League last season and a disappointing opening to the Champions League groups stage have led to a spate of suggestions England may lose their fourth Champions League place to Italy. However analysis suggests this is unlikely and English club performances in European club football over the past five seasons have been second only to the Spanish.

October 1 – Premier League attendances for Round 7 topped last week’s figures with the 10 home matches averaging 96.5% stadium capacity, the second highest since the opening day of the season. Stoke City had just one seat unfilled at the Britannia Stadium.

September 30 – Manchester City FC have announced a multi-year drinking and mineral water partnership with Thailand-based Singha Corporation Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of Boon Rawd Brewery, for Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar.
