August 4 – FIFPRO Asia/Oceania have signed a new deal with SportsFX aimed to enhance the financial wellbeing of professional footballers across the region.
Whilst the value and length of the deal are undisclosed, FIFPRO’s newest Currency Partner will provide the region’s network of player associations and their members with access to “tailored international currency services and expert financial guidance”.
Players will have access to personalised support including international money transfers, competitive exchange rates, and strategies to protect and grow their income, particularly during periods of international transfer or relocation.
The collaboration will also explore joint educational initiatives focused on financial literacy.
Shoko Tsuji, Secretary General of FIFPRO Asia/Oceania, welcomed the partnership. “Throughout their careers, footballers often move between clubs and countries, and therefore their salaries are paid in varied currencies — all of which can present financial challenges that are difficult to navigate.
“By partnering with SportsFX, we’re equipping players with trusted, cost-effective tools to manage their income, wherever football takes them. Just as importantly, this partnership will help build players’ financial literacy and provide ongoing support for managing their finances confidently and across borders.”
Chris Broadfoot, founder of SportsFX and a former professional footballer, said he was thrilled to play a role in supporting players’ financial wellbeing.
“As someone who has experienced professional football firsthand, I know how vital it is for players to have support they can trust when it comes to finances. At SportsFX, we’ve built our services with players in mind — from international transfers to real-time support and advice.
“Our long-standing partnership with the PFA in Australia has already helped many players, and we’re proud to now extend that work across the entire Asia/Oceania region through this exciting partnership.”
