July 28 – With global major sports event focus centring on the USA with the World Cup in 2026 and the Olympics Games in Los Angeles in 2028, sports integrity group SIGA has named its SIGA AMERICA Advisory Board for the 2025–2027 cycle.
The Board gathers senior leaders from sport, business, media, law, and social impact sectors – all united by a shared commitment to Good Governance, Sports Betting Integrity, and Youth Protection in Sport.
SIGA said “this new mandate is a critical step in ensuring sport is not only played at the highest level, but also governed to the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability.
“In full alignment with SIGA’s constitution and values, the Advisory Board is gender-balanced, reinforcing the organization’s unwavering commitment to equity, inclusion, and leadership diversity.”
With US sports driven by the dollar, quite often over and above the importance of competitive sporting integrity (the MLS with its rigid governance and closed league status too often being the perfect example), the board not surprisingly has a strong engagement from the commercial sector. Boston Celtics senior VP and General Counsel James Parker is co-chairing with venture capitalist Sandra Lopez.
