22 July – The Football Association of Iceland (KSÍ) has appointed Secutix as its new partner for ticketing technology and business services, marking a strategic shift in how the association engages with supporters and manages matchday operations.
Under the agreement, KSÍ will implement Secutix’s full suite of ticketing technology, including the recently launched FAN4LIFE platform – a service which provides comprehensive fan care, which will aid KSÍ in their ticketing and fan engagement ambitions.
One of the most visible changes for supporters will be the introduction of a fully branded KSÍ ticketing app, allowing fans to purchase, manage, transfer, and resell tickets digitally. The move eliminates the need for paper tickets and modernises the entire ticketing experience.
Crucially, the partnership puts KSÍ in the position of Primary Data Controller, meaning the association will own and manage all data captured through its digital ticketing channels. This shift enables KSÍ to tailor offers and communications to different segments of its fan base, meeting a long-standing demand from supporters for more personalised engagement.
For a relatively small organisation compared to other European football associations, the partnership with Secutix offers not just technological innovation, but also operational efficiency. By leveraging FAN4LIFE’s full-service capabilities, KSÍ can enhance the fan experience without placing additional strain on its internal resources.
The agreement represents a forward-looking move by Iceland’s football authorities – embracing technology not only to streamline operations, but to build deeper, more flexible relationships with their supporters.
Stefan Gunnarsson, Commercial & Marketing Director at the KSÍ, said: “As a forward-thinking football association, the KSÍ constantly strives for improvement. Despite being few in number, we want to do as well as possible in every aspect.
“In this regard, the KSÍ felt it needed a partner that could match its ambition, which is to meet the demands of today´s and future customers in terms of service level, efficiency and technology. By choosing Secutix, we aim to enhance our reputation as a provider of top-class services for ticket buyers at football events in Iceland.”
David Hornby, Secutix Vice-President of UK, Ireland and FAN4LIFE, added: “We’re delighted to announce KSÍ as a full-service client of Secutix, using our established technology platform as well as our newly launched business support services. FAN4LIFE services offers a comprehensive ticketing solution, allowing KSÍ to focus on delivering exceptional events while we manage the entire ticketing process.”
