Iran complete 12-team line-up for 2026 Women’s Asian Cup finals in Australia

July 21 – With a 2-1 win over Jordan in the final round of AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 group A qualifying, Iran secured the 12th and final slot for next year’s finals.

Iran qualified for their second Women’s Asian Cup finals on head-to-head results after finishing level on nine points with Jordan.

Also other qualifiers from the group stage are India (Group B), Bangladesh (Group C), Chinese Taipei (Group D), Vietnam (Group E), Uzbekistan (Group F), Philippines (Group G) and DPR Korea (Group H).

Defending champions China, alongside Asian powerhouses Japan and Korea Republic, are already qualified alongside host nation Australia.

Bangladesh will make their finals tournament debut after a perfect qualifying campaign, while it tool a penalty shoot-out against Nepal for Uzbekistan to book their place.

“It’s an incredibly exciting time for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 – the final 12 teams are locked in, fans are jumping at the chance to secure their seats, and we’re just days away from unveiling the full tournament schedule at the Final Draw,” said Sarah Walsh, chief operating officer of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 Local Organising Committee.

“There’s a real energy building, not just here in Australia but across Asia, and this diverse, high-quality line-up shows just how far women’s football has come. With so much talent and so many great stories coming together, this is going to be a tournament to remember.”

The Final Draw will take place at Sydney’s Town Hall on July 29.

Tickets are already on-sale for the finals that will be played in five stadiums in Perth, Gold Coast and Sydney from March 1-26,  2026.

The full line-up: Australia, Bangladesh, China, Chinese Taipei, North Korea, India, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
