LAFC takes content management to next level with ScorePlay deal

April 30 – Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) continues its tradition of innovation with the announcement of a groundbreaking partnership with leading artificial intelligence platform ScorePlay. Since joining Major League Soccer (MLS) in 2018, LAFC has established itself as a pioneer both on and off the pitch.

This strategic collaboration aims to create a seamless ecosystem for media content management, distribution, and athlete content access—critical components in modern sports marketing and fan engagement.

The ScorePlay platform will enable LAFC to consolidate all photo, video, audio, and live broadcast feeds into a unified hub. Using advanced AI, content will be automatically tagged, organised, and distributed, streamlining workflow processes and increasing efficiency across departments.

In a league first, ScorePlay will implement automated athlete content delivery powered by facial recognition technology. Players will receive personalized media assets in real time, including match highlights, behind-the-scenes locker room content, and team interactions, which they can immediately share with their followers.

“We are excited to work with ScorePlay as we continually seek innovative solutions that elevate the LAFC fan experience,” said Larry Freedman, LAFC Co-President. “ScorePlay represents the next evolution in sports media management.”

LAFC has quickly established itself as one of MLS’s most successful franchises, winning the Supporters’ Shield in 2019 and 2022 before claiming the club’s first MLS Cup championship in 2022 with a dramatic penalty shootout victory over the Philadelphia Union. This winning culture extends beyond the field, with the club consistently ranking among the most progressive and innovative teams in the league.

Victorien Tixier, CEO of ScorePlay, added: “This collaboration will empower LAFC to unlock the full potential of their media content, creating more meaningful connections with fans while delivering great value to their partners.”
