Yamal is world’s MVP at €402.3m, Haaland and Bellingham are next highest ranked

June 4 – Barcelona progidy Lamine Yamal, 18 years-old in July, is the most valuable player in world football, worth a full €162 million than second highest value Erling Haaland and €170 million more than Jude Bellingham.

Kylian Mbappe, who has previously topped the CIES valuation, is ranked fourth at €192.5 million, less than half the value of Yamal. Haaland (€239.6 million) and Bellingham (€233.8 million), alongside Yamal (€402.3 million), are the only players valued above €200 million.

Mbappe is the oldest player in the top 10 at 26.2 years old.

The player ranking has been compiled by the CIES Football Observatory using its own statistical model.

A total of 24 players are valued at more than €100 million. The 100th ranked player is Al-Nassr’s Jhon Duran at €58 million.

The English Premier League is by far the most represented in the top 100 (42 players), followed by the Spanish Liga (19). Paris St-Germain is the most represented club (11 players).

Only four of the top 100 ranked players are outside the five major European leagues: two in Portugal (Samu Aghehowa and Viktor Gyökeres), one in Brazil (Estêvão Willian, already contracted by Chelsea) and one in Saudi Arabia (Jhon Durán).

The CIES report authors also highlight the highest values for defensive positions: Bart Verbruggen (€64.3 million) among goalkeepers, Pau Cubarsí (€118.0 million) for centre backs and Joško Gvardiol for full/wing backs (€100.7 million).
